Mr. Poon is a well-known entrepreneur and a pioneer in China's aviation finance. Mr. Poon has over 20 years of experience in direct investment, structured investment and aviation finance, and has focused on aircraft leasing and airport investment over the past 10 years.
Mr. Poon is the founder and the chairman of Friedmann Pacific Asset Management Limited (“FPAM”), which has developed into an investment holding company focusing on value creation along the aviation industry value chain. Its business scope has been extended to the investment and operation of aviation ventures around the world, including aircraft leasing, airport investment and operations and aircraft disassembly.
Mr. Poon founded China Aircraft Leasing Company Limited (“CALC”) in March 2006 and played an instrumental role in developing it into the largest independent aircraft lessor in China and one of the leading global players in the aviation industry. He was the key driver of the CALC’s listing on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange in 2014, which made it the first listed aircraft lessor in Asia. Currently, Mr. Poon is an Executive Director and Chief Executive Officer of CALC.
Mr. Poon founded China Airport Synergy Investment Limited in 2014, which is mainly engaged in the investment and operations of airports around the world. It acquired Toulouse-Blagnac Airport, the 5th largest airport in France, which marked the first airport privatization in France and the first Chinese consortium to purchase an overseas airport.
With the accumulated vision and wisdom in the aviation industry, Mr. Poon founded International Aircraft Recycling Co., Ltd. in 2014 and built a dismantling base in China in 2015, which is also the first aircraft dismantling base in Asia. Complete the last part of China's aviation industry chain.
Mr. Poon obtained the degree of bachelor of engineering from the University of Hong Kong in 1995, and obtained the degree of executive master of business administration (高级管理人员工商管理硕士) from Tsinghua University in 2005. Mr. Poon has been a CFA® charterholder of the Association for Investment Management and Research (now known as the Chartered Financial Analysts Institute) since March 2002.
Mr. Poon is currently a member of Heilongjiang Province Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (“CPPCC”) (中国人民政治协商会黑龙江省政协委员) , the Vice Chairman of HKCPPCC (Provincial) Members Association Foundation Limited (港区省级政协委员联谊会基金会副主席), the Executive Vice President of the Association for the Promotion of Hong Kong Heilongjiang Economy (“APHKHE”) and a member of the Youth Committee of APHKHE (香港黑龙江经济合作促进会常务副会长及属下青年委员会主任), the Vice President of Chinese Financial Association of Hong Kong (香港中国金融协会副主席), the Honorary President of Hong Kong Overseas Chinese Association (香港华侨华人总会名誉会长) and a member of the Youth Committee of All-China Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese (中华全国归国华侨联合会青年委员会委员). Mr. Poon also obtained the World Outstanding Chinese Award (世界杰出华人奖) from World Chinese Business Investment Foundation (世界华商投资基金会) in 2006.
Ms. Ng is the Co-founder of Friedmann Pacific Asset Management Limited (“FPAM”), a Hong Kong-based investment firm specializing in aviation and airport-related projects around the world. She is also the founding member of China Aircraft Leasing Company Limited (“CALC”), the first aircraft operating lessor in China. She heavily involved in the management and operations at its initial development stage from 2006 to 2010, including design and set-up of procedures and control, and communications of technical aspects for its aircraft delivery. Ms. Ng started Aircraft Recycling International Limited (“ARI”) in 2014, leading a professional team to establish trading platform in Asia and distribution channels across the globe.
Ms. Ng graduated from the University of Hong Kong in Bachelor of Science, and started private pilot studies since 2003.
Mr. Cai has over 30 years of experience in aviation industry and civil aviation field with a focus in establishing a steady supply chain of aircraft parts and components, business development strategy, marketing, sales and customer support in comprehensive MRO and warranty service of aircraft engine. Mr. CAI worked as an engineer for Harbin Aircraft Manufacturing Corp.; Director of Business Development Department for China Flying-Dragon General Aviation Co. Ltd. and Chief Representative at Beijing Representative Office for Hong Kong Topcast Aviation Supplies Co. Ltd..
Mr. Cai graduated with a Bachelor Degree of Aircraft Manufacturing Engineering from Beihang University.
Mr. Leech is responsible for the development and daily management of ARI's used aircraft leasing business. Mr. Leech is an aviation professional who has 20 years of aircraft leasing and remarketing experience in commercial aviation. In his previous role at GMT Global Republic Aviation, he headed up the remarketing team, responsible for the sales, leasing and remarketing of aircraft and enhanced the building of the corporate image by establishing the identity and market presence of company. Prior to that, John was Senior Vice President and Head of Sales and Marketing at ORIX Aviation where he was responsible for the sales and remarketing of all aircraft and engines both on lease and through to end of life solutions. He also played a leading role in developing awareness and the corporate identity of the company.
Mr. Leech is a graduate of University College Dublin, Ireland.
Mr. Zhou has over 18 years of working experience in airlines, he was formerly an Aircraft Acquisition specialist in Shenzhen Airlines, and responsible for aircraft certifications, fleet management and planning , as well as aircraft purchase and financing lease. Mr. Zhou graduated from Civil Aviation University of China, and obtained a Master Degree of Economics Law in Wuhan University and a Master Degree of MBA in Seattle University.
Mr. Li has extensive experiences and held various key technical and managerial roles in MRO and Airlines for the last 27 years. His last position with Air China was deputy general manager of Corporate Planning and he was responsible to Investment Management, Technique Innovation, MRO strategy and Business Development. Mr. Li. is responsible for the planning and set up of the operational procedures of CADC including production, material management, logistics, quality assurance and marketing and sales. Mr. Li graduated from Beijing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics (now “Beihang University”) and received Bachelor’s degree of Engineering. He received his MBA from China Europe International Business School (CEIBS) in 2014.
